I have searched the forum and not found what I am confident is a simple thing.

I am still trying to understand fully the layout and modules side of things, and am getting better.

I can display a vertical list of all categories (used superfish category addon) on the left of the home page, but when I go into a category, product or indeed any other page they vanish.

I want tto try and display the vertical list on the home page, all category/sub category and product pages, can anyone simplify the understanding of the process to achieve this. I have read several things but none of them make a great deal of sense to me.

Many thanks in advance for your understanding, patience and for not calling me names!

Follow this tutorial step by step and you will begin to understand the layout system.

ha, that did the trick, I removed all but the default and home layouts, and of course it is now doing what I wanted.

I think I get it now, but will fall back to this tutorial each time I get confused.

Many thanks bigchili

@spottedhaggis
Hi,
I also want to make similar to your site but am new in Opencart. I removed my horizontal category menu and now want to add the superfish effect on the left category menu. Can you please help me how to do that? My site: http://www.tiptopmegashop.com/testocart/

Thanks in advanced.
