Tax on shipping

hi,

i have searched for an answer to this, but i cannot find anything. i suspect it is something really simple.

i have set up a simple store, and i am using the "tax by zip code" contribution, which seems to be working fine. at least in terms of determining the correct tax rate.

i have a single shipping option, "flat rate shipping", which is set to $4.95. the tax that is calculated includes tax on the price of shipping. i do not want that, i want the tax to exclude shipping. what am i missing?

on a related note, on the order confirmation page (where i see the calculated tax for the first time), there is no label text for the "tax" line item. it displays a colon and the tax amount. where is that label defined? i can't find it anywhere in the language dirs.

to remove tax on the shipping, goto the admin area "Extension->Order Total"
Change the sort order of tax to be before shipping.

The label itself comes from Admin->Configuration->Localisation->Tax Class.

Be sure there is an entry in the name
