I'm sure this is a simple one, but, in the Dashboard and other views where we see our customers and orders the IP address recorded is the internal IP address of our server. This is not very useful :P

Is there a way to record the external IPs of the customers? After all this is the thing we need for fraud prevention.

This is a problem with the server settings and not open cart ... what kind of hardware do you have sitting in front of the server ?

What platform are you running Open Cart on ?

I did wonder that.

It's on shared hosting at present. LINUX. I have access to change htaccess, and PHP.ini settings. but no control of the hardware, and no root access.

OK - This is now solved :-)

This was fixed by moving the site to a new Apache II server. It seems earlier versions of Apache cause this...

My host moved my site as the server it was on was too contended and we were seeing performance issues. He moved it to one of his new severs. We then noticed that the IPs were registering correctly. When we checked with the host they informed us it was fixed by Apache II.

Hope this helps someone else one day.

You can use this VQMOD
https://github.com/zstergios/Opencart-2.x-APCU-Caching/ (there is for 1.5 version too)

It adds
APCU support
VQMOD for Nginix/Varnish support (or Engintron) - Cache control
Cache VQMOD products and categories
IP Fix VQMOD
