Hi people, im new on this product and beggining an online store, would really apreciate your guidance on this.
It will contain several types of products and some of them requires the user acept a disclaimer before seing the product itself, (ie adult stuff) can i add a page prior they see the products (and after they click the category) with the simple "i accept" buttons or "i do not accept" so they can leave or enter under they responsability?

thanks in advance

I think most laws prohibit viewing/access of this type of content on a sitewide basis, not only a product level?
I think it would be easier if you simply make a splash page at the very beginning of your site.

Youtube does this on a per-video setting.

It wouldn't be too hard.

1. To start you'd add a checkbox to the product edit page for "age appropriate consent required"
2. If checked for a particular product, then when the customer loads the page, it would check a session variable for age consent. If the variable is not set, redirect you to a page for confirmation
3. If confirmation is true, then set a session variable would be set and continue to that product page.
4. Then as long as the session is live for that customer, those products will be shown without asking consent every time.

For age specific items, it would be so much simpler to add birth date to the registration for an account. Daniel, would this be possible to add in an upcoming revision?

"i accept that i am over 18" popup or intro page with
accept/reject? i actually work on an adults shop as well
and i need the warning just when entering the site.

i have finished the first (rough) version of the
disclaimer feature. the disclaimer text can be set
from admin and the button and title are customized
through language files.

you can see it in action on crazytoys.cz

oh.. yea.. sorry. i added this almost 6 months ago
I have 2 mods actually
Entry Terms - which adds a "Enter / Leave" page that you are required to click
and
Age Verification - which adds a birthdate entry to the create account page

Both are compatible together as well.

Hey, wouldn't the method used at crazytoys.cz drastically effect seo preformance as every page visited would display this age verification message instead of the product information.

indeed it does :(

there are more issues at play here:

1. according to the law (with some mumbling from our lawyer) content cannot be available until the customer accepts the disclaimer

2. if i show something else to the customer and something else to google i am basically engaging in cloaking and am eligible for removel from the index.

the way i see it, the only way to go is do the disclaimer in javascript as spiders ignore js.
actually i am working on a solution based on that right now.

Any updates on this topic.
Searching for an extenstion that will send customers to an confirmation page when clicking on a specific folder or a specific item. In this case adult comics.

Is there a way to open a simple popup window showing the disclaimer, instead of ajax popup?? Not tested yet in all browsers and O.S., but I don't want to wait for customers telling me they can't enter the store

not working: IE10-Win8

working: xp(IE7, IE8, ffox-last, chrome31; other versions not tested yet...), w7(ffox24.0-25.0.1, IE8, IE10; other versions not tested yet...), W8(ffox-last; other versions not tested yet...)

Please..help!
