We've been trying to change the date format from European to US since most of our customers will be from the United States. We thought we'd fixed this by switching from "dd/mm/yy" to "mm/dd/yy" in one of the templates (I can't remember which one; followed advice given in a previous forum post) but we're still seeing "14/12/2011" in Dashboard, Sales > Orders and Reports >Sales Reports.

Where else in the code do I need to go in to change this format? We're using 1.5.0 but will be upgrading to 1.5.2 when it comes out. There really should be a toggle for this in System > Settings to make this change one time and have it apply everywhere.

Change it in the language file.
e.g. /catalog/language/english/english.php

That's the file I edited but the change isn't being reflected as such. Here's what I have:

$_['date_format_short'] = 'm/d/Y';
$_['date_format_long'] = 'l dS F Y';

I went ahead and created a vQmod for updating the dates to US format:
http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... on_id=4504

Enjoy!

Does this vQmod work on Version 1.5.2.1?

Is this VQmod compatible, by any chance, with 1.4.9.6?

I just want to thank everyone who helped with this explanation. The EU dates were making me a little crazy. I felt like I was trying to stand on my head and read the dates backwards to sort out in my head what date was what. I'm scared to death of touching any of the code, but the 2 changes needed to flip-flop the month and day were explained so clearly and were soooo easy to do... that even a scardey-cat like me managed it. Now I'm totally LOVING seeing the dates displaying in the order I'm used to.
♥♥♥ Thank you thank you THANK YOU ♥♥♥
