When i get an order, i assume the buyer receives a confirmation email.

How do i edit the details of this email in the admin area (i.e. i want to add extra content saying that they get a discount next time they come back and here is coupon code and I want to include stuff like a link to the facebook fan page etc)

Let me know as i cant find this option in admin, surely this is possible

Hi,

Yo may be able to achieve what you need by editing:

catalog/language/YOURLANG/mail/order.php

thanks... but im not really into editing the php code.

this strikes me as a pretty normal standard thing, to be able to tell your customer whatever message you want, thanking them for the order or whatever - are you seriously saying that this is not in the admin area to be edited? if so its a pretty big flaw in the system...

let me know the best solution, maybe some plugin or module? thanks

It's not a flaw as such, as most people get along fine with the default set-up.

It is however a feature request and should probably be added to the Feature Request forum (if it hasn't already been added).

it is certainly a very serious flaw, this is a normal function available in most other systems...

open cart is fantastic, i find it very strange that this was missed ... :S ?

I have used several open source systems and can tell you that of the ones I have used, most, including Magento, osCommerce etc by default you have to edit the actual files.

It certainly is not a flaw, but something that would be nice to have for sure, however it does not stop the system from working and most get along fine with the default.

Please add it to the feature requests for future versions if it is not already listed.
