Hi
I am working with a hosted account that only allows me to have one MySql Database which is being used for a Wordpress site.
I am trying to add an Opencart store, but I can't create another database to host it.
Can I use the Wordpress database for the Opencart installtion? Can it happily add the tables it requires into the Wordpress database and operate from that?
Thanks
Yes, I did exactly that. I set up Opencart using my Wordpress database, but gave the tables the prefix oc_. The installation worked fine and has had no apparent affect on the Wordpress site. The Opencart store seems to run fine too. If I spot any issues ongoing, I'll post another comment.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
as long as you specify a table prefix you should have no problem with this configuration, and you get the added benefit that if you are going to attempt any sort of integration you can directly query the other programs database.
