Change default number of "Latest Products"

Hey!

Presently my opencart displays 8 of the newest products on the first page... that is the default value, how can I cahnge it so that it displays 20 of the "latest products" on the first page?

I tried going to Settings->option and changed "Default Items per Page (Catalog):" but it did not do the trick

ok, after a lot of googling and trying to understand the code (i am a php programmer, but dont know how to work with OOP) I finally figured it out...

Got a lot of false positives from the forum because it used to be done differently before... it used to be hard coded, now its in the form of a "module"accessible from home->extensions->modules.

I just write this for anyone else having my problem and searching the forums/google.
