I want my link to become a permalink. I have renamed the .htaccess,txt into .htaccess and set enabled for SEO url in the setting but the link still hasn't changed.

Are there something missing?

Running Opencart v3.0.3.2 with multi-stores and the default template from https://www.labeshops.com which has links to all my stores.

I want that the link in the url isn't formatted like this : http://mysite.com/index.php?route=produ ... duct_id=20 but more like : http://mysite.com/product-name

1
rename your .htaccess.txt to .htaccess
# If your opencart installation does not run on the main web folder make sure you folder it does run in ie. / becomes /shop/
RewriteBase /

2
Login as admin->system-> setting->your store->edit->server-> use SEO url: Yes-> Save

3
Login as admin->catalog-> catagories / products-> your product-> edit-> data-> SEO Keyword: XXXx-> Save
(Do not use spaces instead replace spaces with - and make sure the keyword is globally unique.)

I'm still getting 500 Internal Server Error.
I also don't quite understand what step no.1 means. My site is not inside public_html folder but in the same root with it. What should I change?
