Help setting up rewards

Hi there,

Ok so for some reason i just don't get it or i think i don't have it setup correctly but can someone please tell me how to setup up reward points for i guess what would be a 10% discount (which seems the norm).

This is how i set it up:
eg 1: cost $10 -> points received 10 -> cost to purchase in point 100
eg 2: cost $3 -> points received 3 -> cost to purchase in point 30

Also i want to use a rewards extension is this how it should be setup? : I have read other topics and asked in the author of the extension but any help would be appreciated.

Anyone? Or does no one really use the reward points system.

With you extension you still have to set reward-points per product......

yes, i know, but there is only 2 fields to fill in, how many points to give per £ spent and how many points per £ to buy.

The extension that TS and I use is much better, no need to add points to each product.

Thanks for the response. Trying to setup the rewards system. From what i've read, depending on how you set it up, you can base it around for example a 10% discount. Now i already setup the points in Opencart (before the rewards extension) and wanted to know if i set it up correctly as a fallback in case the extension doesn't work etc etc.

I now found that global rewards extension and noticed you use it too and just wanted to know if it should be setup like in the screenshot? 1st and especially last field in the screenshot is the concern. Again based at a 10% discount.

I'm not sure how to set it up as a 10% discount.

I have set it with a value 0.04 to 1 dollar (Reward-point value is 0.25 dollarcent = 25%).

So setting it to 0.01 to a Dollar makes it 10%?

But I'm terrible with math

This may be non related to your question, but keep in mind the rewards system is too limited in OC for products with options, so you will see too few fields to set up a product properly, and its all manual. Also, its quite easy to make a JS multiplier that auto-fills points based on the price of the product in admin edit. So if you type $10 it will keyup fill a multiplied amount of points in the right field(s). Im not at liberty to share that one since my college crafted it sorry Think: keyup with $('input[name=price'').val() * .1 and save the $19.95

As far as options without buy points, the only viable route to solve that is a rewards system that works in currency mode as a multiplier off the product & order total, with a global multiplier per customer group. The only "hassle free" rewards system to my knowledge that has this ability is this one: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... on_id=9319 (note: although the other Hunterbusiness rewards system claims it does this, the currency mode simply adds commas, its not real currency mode)

Whys this important? OC sets up rewards like so:

Product A for $300 - Earn 300 rewards, Purchase in rewards for 3000
Option A1 +$0 - blue - earn 0 rewards more
Option B1 +$50 - chrome - earn 50 rewards more

Even though option B1 makes product cost $350, you are still allowed to buy it for 3000 points (when it should be 3500 points due to the added $50). Currency mode is the logical solution to this, bypassing arbitrary rewards per product and the non-existent buy for rewards per option.
