limit the total products to show on each category instead of showing all.
coz if you have thousands of products on each category,the category page may load too slow.
limt 1000 products is fine for each category.
anyone knows how to do this?

Do you mean per page or just in general? Because there's a setting in the admin area to limit how many show per page. If you are experiencing a slow site because of how many products you have... I would recommend this module because it's awesome and I can confirm that speed goes through the roof with it.

Well, that would be the effectively the same as disabling the product....why not just do that?

Well, say you have 2000 products in a category, but you only want 1000 to show. That means you've effectively disabled 1,000 products...they won't ever been seen on the site...
