Yesterday GoDaddy decided to work on their MySQL Databases without telling anyone, so my OC couldn't connect all day. Now I'm running test scripts and connecting to the database fine, but OC still won't connect. Do I need to flush something out? Nothing has been changed in the last two days.

Code: Select all

Looking at the error I think that your user-info to connect to the db is incorrect.

What is your hoster saying?

GoDaddy says they are all up on their side. I've did try a test php file to connect to the database with the current database name/pass/url, it seems to be connecting ok.

Strange, they do something and your shop stops working but they say nothing's changed....

Well they say all the databases are working and they tested the database and its connecting. Also I've tried a test php script to connect and it did. So they said I should re-code the call function in the mysql.php file because it can't find the creditionals. But I do nothing to the website or the script in the files. I basically woke up and it was like this. I tried to change the db password a couple of times, but it didn't matter when the db's were down anyway. Now I've verified the password with the database.

As last resort you could backup your DB and files and do a clean install and see if that solves it.

Re-coding after they did something sounds more like they don't have a clue.

Use your phMyAdmin to backup and restore your DB.

I just created a new database with their Hosting Control Center and restored it, then updated each config.php & admin/config.php files to match the new settings. Voila! It works. Yeah right it wasn't on GoDaddy's side. God I just wasted 48 hours of my life for this. *Note to self* Don't use GoDaddy in the future.
