I seem to be having a problem when changing the currency as once selected it then loads a white page but once you click back the currency is displayed.

Im on my tablet just now and I see what you mean. Are you sure your currency dropdown links are correct. Other than that it can only be a js issue but Id need my PC to check for errors. I'll be at it later.

Your links dont look right to me. Your code in currency.tpl should look like this:
onclick="$('input[name=\'currency_code\']').attr('value', '<?php echo $currency['code']; ?>'); $(this).parent().parent().submit();"
Note you dont have the $(this).parent().parent().submit(); bit.

I found the said line and this is whats displayed:

If there is nothing wrong with your link code then I would thinks its either because there is some kind of JS conflict.
Are you just on a standard install with default theme or have you made changes? If so I would review said changes and see if they would have effected the currency module otherwise its a case of reuploading opencart to see if that helps.
