Is there an index.html file on your root server? If so delete it.

When I add/index.php to your site it works fine :)

Hi,

I have just installed Opencart and I'm having the same issue, if I type the domain name in the browser's address I get the following message (This site is under development, This page indicates the webmaster has not uploaded a website to the server. For information on how to build or upload a site, please visit your web hosting company's site.) but if I type the domain followed by /index.php ( ie. www.domain.com/index.php) then I can view the site live.

I checked the root and there is no index.html to delete, your help is highly appreciated.

Thank you

is there any index.htm file there then? Ensure that only index.php exists, and also remove and default.html or similar looking name.

Sometimes new sites take a minute to get local DNS to trickle through and it will say the site is down for days when its actually live. Here are tactics if this is the case in the future. How to clear all your cache:

1) Hit windowskey + r to open run dialog. Then type ipconfig /flushdns

2) Now in chrome enter this url in the address bar: chrome://net-internals/#dns

3) You should see a button to "clear host cache" click it. It doesnt hurt to run ipconfig /flushdns again after this.

4) Nav to your page and it should load right. If not, nav to your url sitemap (yoursite.com/information/sitemap) then hit f12. Click and hold on the refresh button, drag down to "empty cache and hard reload" and release

If it doesnt seem to be clearing still, you can try the site through a webproxy like vpnbook.com or through another browser.
