Login to view prices text

Hi all, i am trying to get my OC install to display the text Please login to view prices on the product page (i have prices turned off)

I have managed to get it working for the category page, but whenever i try to get it to work on the product pages it throws errors.

I have been following the advice from this thread with no luck http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?t=18409

Any help greatly appreciated
