Maybe it's time to move this thread out of "Announcements" to leave space for the new incipient... 8)

So the ability to customize customer registration won't be completed until next year?

Why do we need a 'Sneak Peek' of the BETA when Daniel is assuring everyone that it WILL be released this MONTH, ie Feb 2011 !?! :joker:

This is *ALPHA*
Next will likely be *BETA*
Then probably RC1, RC2, RC3,...RCn
Then 1.5.0 FINAL

And when do we get the sneak peak of the beta version? And is there already a release date for a RC version?

There is no point to having a "SNEAK PEEK" like the "ALPHA" sneak peak when you don't get access to the code - hence a sneak peak. Better just to release the BETA and be done with it like Daniel is promising - unless releasing another SNEAK PEAK is just another delay tactic.

Totally agree, I think that's the way it's going to be anyway, I don't think a sneak peek of a BETA exists anyway, if it's a BETA it's a BETA, a version to find bugs in...

Sneak peak is good, don't care if other's think it's a tactical delay or something but i know Daniel did a great job.
All in all i like everything except the color pink in the add cart button, blue(similar to opencart logo) would be nicer ;D

Even if it has a few bugs, I'm wanting to get my hands on the general structural changes and so not a preview in order to begin implementing important plug-ins for clients whilst the 1.5.0 BETA gets its good old debugging going.

yes there are alot of us wanting to get our hands on the code. I'm particularly interested in how the new instancable modules are handled, and the db structure for the new global options and attributes.

Thanks Qphoria for the offer, personally speaking however, whilst this would have been great to see back in January when the Sneak Peak 1.5 was made available I see no benefit releasing it now. We've waited this long to get our hands on the code, we might as well wait until Daniel releases the BETA to you or to us all.

I haven't read through the entire thread to see if the Wish List feature has been discussed. Just in case the Wish List feature hasn't been written for version 1.5, I had some thoughts.

In lieu of a true Wish List feature, this would work for me: A checkbox for each item in the Cart that says "Save for future order" or "Purchase later". Any item checked would not be included in the current order, but would remain in the cart after checkout was completed. I've never seen anything like this, but it seems to me that it would be easier to program such a feature than to create a separate Wish List.

If you decide to go with a true Wish List, you'll need to provide a way to transfer items from the Wish List to the cart, and from the cart to the Wish List. Thus, each item will need a button, or will need a checkbox with a button at the top to transfer all checked items (in the same way that items are now deleted from the cart).

I'm not surprised that 1.5 isn't released yet. The changes seem to be enormous.

By the way, although I have had "Notify me when a reply is posted" checked, I haven't been receiving notifications.
