Do we need to change old modules (specially payments) or we can use the same?

payments and shipping methods are fine.

modules will work but no longer require the sort and position fields.

It makes me laugh when every snapshot of the new version meets with a new barrage of requests for additional features. ;D

Forgetting your Admin images for a moment, can we have PaymentModule-to-Store

Wow, some great improvements to the system, and the module position manager looks great (using jquery draggable I'm assuming)

As for the serial key generator for products, I've made this module privately for v1.4.8b, but not made it an installable package as I assumed it wouldn't be all that popular. If anyone is interested please contact me :)

Regarding the Multiple Layout feature, will you be able to turn on/off sidebars, depending on what kind of page you pull up?

For instance, what if you wanted to have one Info page without sidebars, but the rest of the site would have both sidebars. Will this be possible?

Thanks

The layout manager is very exciting!

Can we put modules in the header part?

For example someone may want to put breadcrumbs in header, others may want to put in Content Top...Similarly, one may want to put languages, currencies etc in Header or Right Column or elsewhere....etc...seems like it's possible...but had to ask :)

Also, is there a Footer area? All I can see in the screenshot/mockup is a Content Bottom....

Finally, will the modules be aware of where they are placed? In other words, can developers set modules to format themselves based on their placement?

Thanks again!

Good to see that the much awaited Rewards System is slated to part of 1.5.0 8)

Will there be options for rewarding points based on total order value, not just on products bought?

I think this is simply planned to be a layout manager for the existing type of modules, not some totally new thing where people can make arbitrary text/html based snippets and stick them wherever they want. As in I highly doubt it will touch the header/footer at all.

Actually yes, there are header and footer sections in that drag-n-drop layout system and yes you can drag modules to the header or footer. I believe the plan is to use css for the position so that you can have:
#header .box
#column_left .box
#footer .box
etc in the css, each with the different look

yes, but I still doubt that breadcrumbs, languages, currencies etc are going to become modules now are they? I mean I understand you will have basically a top bottom and middle content area, but you will still have your basic navigation stuff in the header and footer if I'm reading it correctly.

6 positions being? Header, Footer, Left Column, Right Column, Content Top and Content Bottom?

Would be nice if things like Breadcrumsb, Language selection, Currency Selection, Login fields etc can be made into modules. Think of the possibilities! :)

Really? Haven't seen any at http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... /extension

You know what I'm saying though..right? If breadcrumbs is a module, then it can be moved around and placed wherever the shop owner wants...same goes for language selection or currency selection....

One more thing: When admin drags a module and drops into the layout, it should not be removed from the modules list...admin should be able to drag it again and drop it into the layout again...this is useful, for instance, if admin wants to repeat a module in more than one place....
