When using OpenCart 3.0, the extension OpenCart Template Switcher is required.

Since when? Using TWIG files also works pretty well when delivered out-of-the-box. While it might provide more limited functions to be used with TWIG files, it has never been a requirement to use any extensions from the Marketplace or 3rd party websites even on this day.
