Hey everyone, I just realized if I login as an admin and then visit the front end of my site "add to cart" doesn't work on the home page, and it also doesn't work in any category. But it does work if I open up the actual product page and use the add to cart.

If I log out of admin and refresh my website all "add to card" buttons work again. I have found few other people having issues with add to cart but never someone having it only when admin is login as well.

No sure when this started, I have tried disabling many notifications and many vQmods but it didn't seem to help. May have started after SSL instal some months back maybe?

Could be a Cookie Problem, if you have one login cookie used in the
Front Side, and another one in Admin, and both are logged in during
this 'attempt'.

If it is a cookie issue, what would be a fix? And why did it start happening all of the sudden?

Hello supak111,

There might be 2 possibilities for this conflict :

1. As you said you have installed SSL so all urls must start with https:// otherwise it may conflict.
2. As OC stores session token for both admin & catalog so this might be a possibility of conflict as well, so once clear cookie and try to Add products to Cart again.

Please try above 2 methods and see if it works or not.

All my pages point to https, I have the htaccess sending everything there and both my config files all point to https. I have no issues with https and all pages show the LOCK the the address menu.

And if I clear cookie it works. As I've said, just logging out of admin makes "add to cart" start working. Cleaning cookies automatically logout the admin so it starts working again

Hi,

Is there any customization made for add to cart or cart section?
Default OC works for both admin & front end simultaneously. There might be some custom changes made for this section.
Please once check your vqmod files.

WOW thanks for that suggestion, went and disabled ALL vQmods and it worked. Then slowly narrowed down which one is the issue (google_analytics_expert.xml). Interestingly enough I've had that vQmod for many years without issues.

Could it be that some newer vQmod is interfering with this old vQmod causing this problem? Or maybe SSL caused this vQmod to fail

.

Hello supak,

You're most welcome!
There might be some conflict with vQmod files as we simply install files without knowing what major impact it is going to do on our core files.
This might be possible that some core file data for add to cart has been modified.

You can compare "add to cart" files of core section with modified files, you will definitely get a solution.

Re. SSL if all links has https included in url then it won't cause any issue.
