Hey guys

I'm using Opencart 2.X because I simply couldn't get OC3 working on my server (nor could a contractor I hired to try and do it for me). But its ok because 2.x seems to be working fine. What I would like to know however is

I have just got an SSL cert for my site. when I navigate to the site using https:// it works, green padlock displayed, all good etc. I was wondering if there was something I could put in the opencart htaccess to change any request for http://www.store.com/shop to redirect to https://www.store.com/shop so it is always a secure experience

Please let me know if its possible (or even if its an advisable thing to do)

Thank you

Luke

Working / not working

More information is needed. In addition, since you installed SSL on your site, contact your host to ensure proper configuration with your .htaccess file.

The most generated errors being found on Opencart forum originates from contributed programming. The increased post counters are caused by redundancies of the same solutions that were already provided prior.

yeah my host installed it for me.
only issue is, if you look @ https://www.pokemondungeon.com/shop/ its got the green ssl padlock and all is well
but clicking on ANY link to a product, category etc sends it back to http:// instead of https:// - is that a htaccess problem more than an opencart one?

This is the rewrite part of my htaccess there currently
# SEO URL Settings
RewriteEngine On
# If your opencart installation does not run on the main web folder make sure you folder it does run in ie. / becomes /shop/

RewriteBase /shop/
RewriteRule ^sitemap.xml$ index.php?route=extension/feed/google_sitemap [L]
RewriteRule ^googlebase.xml$ index.php?route=extension/feed/google_base [L]
RewriteRule ^system/download/(.*) index.php?route=error/not_found [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !.*\.(ico|gif|jpg|jpeg|png|js|css)
RewriteRule ^([^?]*) index.php?_route_=$1 [L,QSA]

any suggestions as to how to get this locked to https:// for anything relating to my OpenCart setup would be great (Assume that IS what is best yeah?)
