There was a problem with our shop that we fixed. Not we have some odd behavior.
Previously, out of stock products were shown without the option for the customer to buy it or add it to the cart.
Now, even if stock is 0, customer can add to cart and check out.
I tried the SYSTEM>SETTINGS>OPTION-TAB
Stock Checkout:
Allow customers to still checkout if the products they are ordering are not in stock.
Set to No. But this seems to have zero effect. Any ideas?

Please set Show Out Of Stock Warning To YES at same place admin SYSTEM>SETTINGS>OPTION-TAB
and then check it
