Editing CSS has no effect [SOLVED]

I am trying to change the look of the main menu bar, but cant get the css to have any effect, if i rename the file the menu bar vanishes so it seems i am editing the correct file, however i can empty everything from the file and that has no effect as long as the file exists nothing changes

have tried this in both the default theme as it comes out of the box, and created a new theme from the default files, so i can experiment, but neither has any effect on what the site displays.

It is totally a cache issue. According to your server response, you are using varnish cache. You can temporarily disable the varnish cache by adding following line in .htaccess file

thank you, i have tried that but still not working.

i can make the changes locally using inspect, but they wont show on the website

try upload and replace file.

Before I have same problem, Try upload file and replace.

got this working now, thank you

had to use this line of code in the htaccess file

Header set Cache-Control no-cache

Or you can just hit refresh until it clears
