It appears that a problem I'm having has to do with the high number of categories and products in my store. I've found info saying that I can disable product count in 2.0.3.1 by using the admin panel.

However, my host has disabled my access to the admin panel. Anyone know where I can go to change this setting. I can access my sites cpanel and can edit the contents. I just need to know where it is.

I'm looking for admin > system > settings and the option is "product count". Can anyone help??

Cool. I found it. Can you verify that this actually stops the sql query from running? I'm using 2.0.3.1.

I've seen some threads that say this might not actually stop the query from running. I do realize I have further optimization to do, but I'm hoping this will appease my host until I can do so.

Coulnt tell you whether that will stop the query or not sorry.

This fixed my issue and the site is back on. Not a host problem, it was the poor coding using in the product count query that was hogging server resources that got me shut down. Turning off the query took care of the problem.
