Is there a way to link or add an image/file to a customers profile? I plan to offer Military discount but I require proof and would like the ability to save that file to their profile. I must add that these files/images are not to be seen by anyone but admin.

Hi,
You need to go to the administration page of your store and navigate to Sales > Customers > Custom Fields.
Then add new custom field with Type='File'

Forget complex and inconvenient stock Categories and Products in OpenCart - use Acute Category Manager +!

Thanks for your reply. I made the changes. I was not sure what to put in the Value box.

I tested it out and it allows me to upload the file but I can not find where to view the file. Is it supposed to show up in the persons profile?

Thanks

Cool! That's a step closer. I can at least find the files now. :) Just have to get them to show up in the profile.

Thanks

That sounds good, but I do not want an avatar. The photo/file needs to be private that only admin could see it in the customers profile.

Thanks

Asking for users to upload their own pictures may be seen as a bit old school strategy these days. As a suggestion, why not add a custom field, as a social media profile link, so that users may choose to propagate the link to the admins?

In addition, there are extensions that automatically shows profile news feeds just by using the API over social media websites.

The most generated errors being found on Opencart forum originates from contributed programming. The increased post counters are caused by redundancies of the same solutions that were already provided prior.

it's just called, this way, for those readers, interested in such, and it works without images from avatar.com.
customer can upload any avatar he likes in his account.

Code: Select all

<div class="form-group">
<label class="col-sm-2 control-label" for="input-status"><?php echo $entry_defaultavatar; ?></label>
<div class="col-sm-10"><a href="" id="thumb-image" data-toggle="image" class="img-thumbnail"><img src="<?php echo $thumb; ?>" alt="" title="" data-placeholder="<?php echo $placeholder; ?>" /></a>
<input type="hidden" name="avatarsystem_avatarimage" value="<?php echo $avatarsystem_avatarimage; ?>" id="input-image" />
</div>

I believe you don't understand what I am trying to do. Some of my customers, not all, are Military. In order to give them Military discounts, I require proof. I am looking to have a field in their profile, which I already have, for them to upload a copy of their ID. I am not looking to have an avatar, share with social media or anything else. I am just looking to be better organized by having the file that was uploaded be added into their profile so only I can view it.

Thanks
