Hello all

We are looking to upgrade from V2.1.0.2 To V2.2.0.0 but can anyone tell us what we need to do to upgrade.

Is there any mods to tables we need to do and is it possible?

We are also running journal

Thanks

Hi mRC,

What you should do is wait. There is no viable script to upgrade safely and you will run into all kinds of trouble using the default script.

Thanks for your response, im not looking at using the upgrade script but we are looking at making the changes to our database to be compatible with the latest version ei which tables need to be added or changed etc.

Thanks

We have managed with previous changes but it seem this one is causing us major problem.

for example when we installed the latest version every tab in the Admin settings would show "button_store" "button_local" instead of "Store" "Local" "Image"

also in the store front all the add to cart buttons and wish list buttons and other buttons would have "button_" before the text.

The activity for the customers date added was changed to about 100 different characters and all the prices was changed to something like £99d.99. so formatting also was giving us problems.

We are going to run a test server on a fresh install to see what tables have changed.

Let us know how you go and we will do the same.

we have just done a fresh install and it seems that when our existing database is up loaded its causing the text errors on the buttons etc. as per below

The activity for the customers date added was changed to about 100 different characters and all the prices was changed to something like £99d.99. so formatting also was giving us problems.

we are going to check the table differances

mRC ,

It's 3am here, but I figured I would upload the first completed test of the upgrade from 2.1.0.x to 2.2.0.0 for you to test. Let me know if it solves your number issues (or better yet does not cause it). Just start with a backup copy of your 2.1.0.x database and run the attached upgrade script (of course with the 2.2.0.0 software). Of course you will need to replace the default upgrade scripts with these...

This is just a test. I still need to check other things and move some code around, but this should get you there. Unless your pictures are already loaded in the correct location you will not see any images other than the default ones.

Well we have just done a bit of work and we had to delete the stock theme and re-enable it and its sort of working now.

We have the following missing (not showing) in the admin but are showing in store.

Products
Categories
Order Status's
Option
Reviews
Information

Manufacturer List - OK

in Customer we get the following error

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_BOOLEAN_AND, expecting ')' in /data/17/0/108/1/760979/user/xxxxx/htdocs/foxxxx/admin/controller/customer/customer.php on line 1105

still working on it

I can't make the duplicate error on the api table happen no matter how many times I run the script, still looking into it.

The customer.php solution - http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=191&t=159399

The missing tabs I have seen when the script does not properly complete...

Did you download the install.zip or the upgrade.zip?

Found the issue with the duplicate key. I have updated the download link...

The solution to the customer.php is here - http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=191&t=159399
The solution to the address issue seems to be the same exact code...

I will explain it this way... to be performed on a backup site and copy of your database.

Backup your current database
Disable all Third Party Extensions
Upload the OpenCart software (v2.2.0.0)
Replace the upgrade scripts with the ones from the archive
Run the install / upgrade

You will be upgraded at this point. Now you can re-install third party extension. In a lot of cases you will need to get an updated version from the author of the extension.
