Hello everyone,
I have bought an SSL certificate which is now installed on the server but I am having problems getting the checkout to use the https secure url. The only way I can get it to work is if I change both server urls in the config files to https .... but this is un necessary and slows the site down?
The admin one is working when its just the https that is defined but the checkout doesnt work unless I change both of the urls to https?
What am I doing wrong?
So I have discovered that SSL only works on checkout when logged in?
but Google are disapproving our website from their feeds because they say the checkout is unsecure? How do I force SSL on the checkout regardless of a user being logged in or not without setting it globally which slows the site down?

SSL on checkout will work properly when you've done the following:
1) Update config.php and admin/config.php in the HTTPS section (just add the 's' after 'http')
2) Select the radio button to use SSL under system -->> settings -->> edit -->> server. Click Save.
Some will tell you that you should force SSL across the entire site. I'm personally not a fan of that. If you need help, feel free to send an email to sales@evolvewebhost.com with your login details. I can help you out.
