modules folder changed to extensions,old modules will work?

i see in github oc modules folder changed to extensions but we have old template and modules and if we update our oc . all will work still under module folder or we must update all modules also ?

Haven't played about with the latest version from GitHub as yet, but I would imagine ALL 3rd party modules would need to be updated to reflect the change.
