So when a customer uses a coupon code that removes say 20% of a $10 purchase, paypal checkout shows it as $10 -$2 = $8 due. If I use a coupon code of 100% it says $0.00 total, but when you get to paypal it doesnt reflect any discount, and just says $10 as the regular price.
Say a customer account has credit balance of $10. They have $10 worth of items in cart and shipping is $2. They use a coupon code for free shipping, showing $0.00. You hit check out and goto paypal - $10 is shown.
Same scenario where customer has credit balance of $10. Shipping is $2. No coupon code. Amount due is $2. You hit checkout and go to paypal and it shows Amount $10, discount -$8. Total $2. Thats really confusing to a customer and doesn't reflect the credit used? Even if the #'s add up.
Customer has $20 in cart, $10 credit balance.. $7.50 shipping. Total is $17.50. Paypal reflects $20 - $2.50 discount (??) = $17.50.
I tried other scenarios too with store credit + discount. So store credit will subtract shipping costs, but coupon codes can only give free shipping or full shipping, and the % or fixed amount only applies to items in the cart.
After all the testing I've found that anytime the cart reflects a price of $0.00, paypal shows the amount due as the total unmodified cart price.
