How can i get paypal std. to use ['text_description'] in the lang. file?

other payment solutions got this in the lang. file and the image and/or description shows up on the checkout page

Code: Select all

$_['text_description'] = '<a target="_blank" href="http://www.xxxxxx.com"><img src="image/catalog/xxxx/visa_master_xxxxx.gif" border="0"></a>';
But when adding identical line (well with other image) to the pp_standard.php file, nothing shows up on the checkout page?

It could be
- an ad-blocker preventing this image to show
- or maybe it'll work with absolute path ( add a '/' in front of image/catalog)
- broken image (file size zero?)

Using a html inspector like firebug can be helpful in this case...

I posted an alternative way for the logos here: http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php ... 06#p567606

Reason: OpenCart version 3+ ;D

Thanks!

Does that method in the other thread work for OC2031 also?

That's likely although not tested on 2.0
If you find the same search criteria it's probably good to go.
Contact me if you need help while I find some time to create a vQmod ;)

Thanks man... it looks really good in the default checkout and easy to modify.
That said, it was not quite what i needed, with my checkout solution, icons right besides payment selections can't be shown, i also don't want them to.
For me, i want to have the ['text_description'] tag usable so that on the last page "confirm order" you will see, well the description of the payment solution.

Thanks anyway man, nice job never the less :)

Attached are 2 pictures, the first one is a payment solution having this visible:

This next one is when PayPal is selected as a payment option, and you can see its description is missing:

Hey

http://www.matoghage.no
There is only PP Express as payment option available at the moment, but if you want to see the payment solution giving the correct "description" just let me know and i will enable it for a moment, have to be brief as it is a live shop :)

Hey,
You have a custom checkout module and only paypal so I never get to see what's in your example images!
Preferably you activate the payment methods with and without the 'error' :)
We're in the same timezone so if you want to schedule a test for tonight, no problem

Hey

I will enable the payment module 17:30 :)
The custom checkout will display it the same way sorta, just in another box than the default checkout, so as far i have tested, as long as it display in the default checkout, it will show in my custom checkout. so no difference there.

As shown, the description for the integrated paypal solution don't show anything on the default checkout therefore not on my custom checkout either.

O0 :)

I have a Checkout Logos mod that lets you assign images to any payment, shipping, or total:

It's a tough one to debug. Nothing gets rendered in that area besides a hidden confirm button who's job is taken over by the extension. The payex payment method works normally, I can see that.
If you have no error in your code, forgot a quote or anything, it's impossible (for me) to see without having a look at the source. I'm willing to help!

Hey man

If this is enough, here is the PayEx module;
https://github.com/PayEx/Opencart-2-modules

And Paypal is just, well the "PayPal Express Checkout" integrated in OC 2031.

the code in the lang file PayEx:

Code: Select all

<?php
if (!defined('DIR_APPLICATION')) {
    die();
}

$_['text_title'] = 'PayEx Payments';
$_['text_description'] = 'You will be redirected to <a target="_blank" href="http://www.payex.com">PayEx</a> website when you confirm an order.';
The paypal express lang file i have done some tests with:

Code: Select all

<?php
// Heading
$_['express_text_title']      = 'Confirm order';

// Text
$_['text_title']              = 'PayPal Express Checkout';
$_['button_continue']         = 'Continue';
$_['text_cart']               = 'Shopping Cart';
$_['text_shipping_updated']   = 'Shipping service updated';
$_['text_trial']              = '%s every %s %s for %s payments then ';
$_['text_recurring']          = '%s every %s %s';
$_['text_recurring_item']     = 'Recurring Item';
$_['text_length']             = ' for %s payments';

// Entry
$_['express_entry_coupon']    = 'Enter your coupon here:';

// Button
$_['button_express_coupon']   = 'Add';
$_['button_express_confirm']  = 'Confirm';
$_['button_express_login']    = 'Continue to PayPal';
$_['button_express_shipping'] = 'Update shipping';
$_['button_cancel_recurring'] = 'Cancel payments';

// Error
$_['error_heading_title']	  = 'There was an error';
$_['error_too_many_failures'] = 'Your payment has failed too many times';
This is the line i'v been trying to insert into paypal file:

Code: Select all

$_['text_description'] = 'PayPal <a target="_blank" href="http://www.paypal.com"><img src="/image/catalog/xxxxxxx/paypal.png" border="0"></a>';

On first glance the original lang file for paypal doesn't have the text_description so that's why it didn't take.
It's an easy fix if so. I'll update this pxost tomorrow after a good look ;)

Hey,
Here's a quick and the oc way, up to you!

Add your code directly in catalog/view/theme/*/template/payment/pp_express.tpl

Code: Select all

PayPal <a target="_blank" href="http://www.paypal.com"><img src="/image/catalog/xxxxxxx/paypal.png" border="0"></a>
<div class="buttons">
  <div class="pull-right">
    <a href="<?php echo $button_continue_action; ?>" class="btn btn-primary"><?php echo $button_continue; ?></a>
  </div>
</div>
A neater way is to add

Code: Select all

$_['text_description'] = 'PayPal <a target="_blank" href="http://www.paypal.com"><img src="/image/catalog/xxxxxxx/paypal.png" border="0"></a>';
to catalog/language/english/payment/pp_express.php

and

Code: Select all

$data['text_description] = $this->language->get('text_description');
to the pp_express controller

finally:

Code: Select all

<?php echo $text_description; ?>
in pp_express.tpl

So much easier if you have the source :D
