Does anybody know how to change the default order number starting from 1>

To make it look like a customer is the 1000th, not the first!

Thanks, Sam

Hi Sam,

The order ID is determined automatically by the database. To change the starting number you will need to run a query like the one below (for MySQL)

Code: Select all

ALTER TABLE oc_order AUTO_INCREMENT = 1000;

Thanks, Sam
you may also find this extension very helpful
http://tlecoding.gurleegirl.com/random_order_id
the dev made this mod at my request, it adds 3 random numbers to end of order number
so you can still see count for yourself but customers will not be able to see order count
as order numbers would be processed as follows
100638
101728
102784
103992

i found this much better than just increasing your starting order number, which obviously you can still do to give you 6 digit order numbers from start, extension is well worth the money and helps sites with low sales not look so quiet

Brett
I'm having the same issue could you tell me how I'd go about doing the query?
