Is there a way that I can add a product to a customer's account as if the customer had purchased that product? In other words, I want to gift a product to a customer without requiring that customer to do anything and thus have that product's downloads available to that customer in the customer's download section.

I may have found a way to do this, but am getting an error when I click on Orders > Add Order:

Use of undefined constant HTTPS_CATALOG - assumed 'HTTPS_CATALOG' in [...]/admin/controller/sale/order.php on line 44

If I fill in the customer details and click on continue I get a pop-up saying:

SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data

OK

<b>Notice</b>: Use of undefined constant HTTPS_CATALOG - assumed 'HTTPS_CATALOG' in <b>[...]/html/admin/controller/sale/order.php</b> on line <b>2342</b>

I've seen that error in the forum a couple days ago, try searching for "HTTPS_CATALOG"

I needed to define HTTPS_CATALOG in my admin config.php. Working now.
