I don't like the way the title of my product is shoved to the right side of my page, while there's a huge empty space to the left taking up most of the page.

I would like my item name on the top.

Can we change the layout in Admin, or do we have to hack up the script manually?

You have to edit the product.tpl template.

Running Opencart v3.0.3.2 with multi-stores and the default template from https://www.labeshops.com which has links to all my stores.

Thanks.

Right now I'm having trouble making the text field areas a normal small size.

When typing into them on the shop page, they seem to have some big fat cellpadding and cellspacing on them, but I can't get rid of it in the script.

Anyone know how I can make the text field areas smaller, so they aren't so fat? I don't want them to have cellpading or cellspacing.

Not sure what area your are talking about, but all padding is in the stylesheet.css

If you look at the product page in the shop, the text field you type into for Qty (for example) type in it till the text scrolls out of view, and you will see it scroll out of view before it gets to the edge of the box, and you'll also notice there's a lot of empty space above and below the text and the top and bottom of the box as well.

Buttons can be changed in size, but how do we change the actual dimensions of a text field? Also, I've made forms before, and forms in OpenCart are all big and fat like this, not how normal forms are if we make them ourselves!

So what is causing this text field obesity?

Why are the text fields big and fat?

I don't want them all puffy and rounded, I want them rectangles with sharp edges!

I am not familiar with 2.0 templates, but everything you want to change would be in the .tpl or .css file. You might use firebug or a similar browser add on to look at it and figure out what class is being called for what you want to change.

yeh i too need product page sorted, i am happy with layout as is on PC
but when you view a product on a mobile device
the top content is above the right column
which means add to cart is all the way at the bottom under the description which can be very long on a mobile

i did look at layout but there is no option to change

and i am looking at product.tpl, but so not found how to keep same layout but change the order for smaller screens

Sorry but I haven't a clue on responsive templates. Haven't messed with it yet
