[SOLVED] Problem getting 2nd store to work properly

Hi All,
I've created my 1st store and all is fine with that. I'm on OP V2 and just using the default template.

Now I'd like to create a 2nd store but I'm having problems. I've followed the various instructions and searched for solutions but I'm just going round in circles. Here's what I've tried so far (not real domain names)

Attempt #1
1) I created a sub domain (newshop.masterdomain.com).
2) Redirected it to original stores installed files (http://www.masterdomain.com/shop).
3) Redirect works fine
4) In OC System Settings I created a new Store and have URL pointing at http://www.masterdomain.com/shop/
5) When I visit URL newshop.masterdomain.com it displays the correct logos etc for 2nd shop.
6) But, when I visit my 1st store using http://www.masterdomain.com/shop it now displays the logos, categories etc for my 2nd store.

Attempt #2
1) I created a new sub-directory within my master domain called newshop
2) Using FTP I copied all php/tpi files etc into the new sub-directory (newshop) also.
3) I redirected “newshop.masterdomain.com” to “www.masterdomain.com/newshop”
3) In OC System Settings for my 2nd store I modified the URL so it now points at http://www.masterdomain.com/newshop/
4) My 1st store is now fine.
5) When I visit 2nd store URL (newshop.masterdomain.com) it redirects fine but……
6) Does not display my 2nd stores logos or any images I have loaded for products for the 2nd store.
7) I'm using the standard carosel and page header banner and new images added to both of these are not displayed for the 2nd store but are fine in the first.
8.) I’ve even deleted images and reloaded them but this does not work.
9) With attempt #2 I'm obviously missing additions/files that are being kept in the 1st stores directory area.

Any and all help would be much appreciated.

Did you redirect or change the document root folder? You don't redirect the store.

http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?t=27538 is for v 1.5x but should work for 2 as well. Note the part about the cpanel settings.

Also, the second shop when you set it up in settings in oc should point to it's own domain, not the original domain.

I have it all working now. Thanks very much for your assistance much appreciated.

I totally missed the change to the Root/Folder, as my hosting co' don't use cpanel. They offer parallels, and when using this you create the sub-dom first and then have to edit it to access the Root folder change field. I never even knew you could change roots, so I've learned two things today!
