Hello,

since some weeks we get this error in log:

2021-07-21 14:15:48 - PHP Warning: stream_socket_enable_crypto(): SSL operation failed with code 1. OpenSSL Error messages:
error:1409442E:SSL routines:ssl3_read_bytes:tlsv1 alert protocol version in /var/www/vhosts/domain/httpdocs/system/library/mail.php on line 221

it's sometbing with the TLS Connection. Our Hoster said we have to upgrade OC or change version of SSL/TLS. But this is not possible

we have 2.3.0.2

is there any fix or extension?

thanks Kaito

Contact your host and ask them to have the crypto server library enabled. It is useful with port 587, in this case.

The most generated errors being found on Opencart forum originates from contributed programming. The increased post counters are caused by redundancies of the same solutions that were already provided prior.

Use phpinfo() to find the versions of curl and OpenSSL being used. If they look out of date get your host to update them.

The Hoster said he cannot to that, because it's not save. Some weeks ago it worked fine. so I think server was updated.

You could try with port 465 instead of port 587 with the tls:// in the hostname instead of: ssl:// . If that still doesn't solve the issue and your host is not willing to cooperate with the demands, then the best option would be to switch host.
