This is confusing and I have been forcing SSL in htaccess as well as both config.php files (root/admin). The SSL switch is on in admin. It doesn't matter that I am logged on as admin. If I go to the store it shows our theme fine and with https:// ... however if I try to go to some of our products it brings up the url as https:// for that store product but instead of showing it with our theme it displays it down the page with a hamburger like nested chain listing. If I go up to the url and take out the 's' making it http:// for the url it then displays it using the theme.

Any ideas ?? Thanks

In the 2.x branch not all sites are with https.

Version 2.2.0.0
Examples :
https://mysite.com/house-store/house-Bakery WORKS - it shows it in theme

https://mysite.com/house-store/house-Bakery/Cake-Kake FAILS - it only shows it as listings
http://mysite.com/house-store/house-Bakery/Cake-Kake WORKS

https://mysite.com/house-store/house-Cheese WORKS - shows in theme

https://mystore.com/house-store/house-Cheese/ceddar FAILS - shows only as a list (breadcrumb / hamburger style)
http://mystore.com/house-store/house-Cheese/ceddar WORKS then shows it in theme

I seem to recall, its been years since I've had to work on it, that there were SSL switches in System folders

What is mysite and mystore - and why?
And why not posting the real links?
Without, no help is possible.

catalog/controller/startup/startup.php

after
$this->config->set('config_url', HTTP_SERVER);
insert
$this->config->set('config_ssl', HTTPS_SERVER);

system/config/admin.php
system/config/catalog.php

$_['site_ssl'] = false;
change to
[$_['site_ssl'] = true;

system/library/url.php

http://
replace with
https://

We were showing generic url info since the website was in 'maintenance' mode and unless logged in as admin it just kept defaulting to the maintenance page which displayed properly. We weren't going to allow admin access. We weren't trying to be rude or disrespectful of others trying to help on this forum.

Good news is .. IT IS SOLVED!! .. Thank you to previous poster 'spectreav' .
The change that seemed to do it was when :
after
$this->config->set('config_url', HTTP_SERVER);
insert
$this->config->set('config_ssl', HTTPS_SERVER);
in 'catalog/controller/startup/startup.php'

Thank YOU!! appreciate help from others after 3 days of trying to fix this alone.
