hi,
this might sound silly, but it works for me ;D .

have you check on:
System -> Settings -> Options tab...
Alert Mail: Send a email to the store owner when a new order is created.

reinstall is not a sollution but an "I don't know, but do it again" advice. :-\
I use a Zend-server on a XP-business platform.
The mailfunction(SMTP) in other applications like KnowledgeTree works OK.
Using the same parameters results in OpenCart in .......silence! :'(

It would be nice if someone could come up with an serious awnser ;D

It must be server releated as I have several differend carts (Opencart, osCommerce, PrestaShop) installed as a test on my server and no problems with sending e-mail.

I'm not entirely sure it's server related i2Paq, I was previously using v1.3.2 a couple of days ago, and I've been upgrading to v1.4.0. I know for a fact email was previously working when sales were made with v1.3.2 as I was testing it extensively while fixing up a PayPal issue. Since I've begun testing for sales in v1.4.0 I'm no longer having email notifications sent through to the customer (which is my test email account that was working previously). I'll be working on this currently, so should have more details and a fix shortly (just going through the forums at the moment - it's becoming a bad habit hehehe, so many interesting problems to help with).

Reinstalling OpenCart in this situation is definitely not the fix (assuming there aren't other factors involved for those people above reporting the problem).

Maybe you are right, have a look Here.
Frustrated wrote:Finally solved it, i now have it sending emails on linux server here was the solution.
in mail.php find the line

Code: Select all

mail($to, $this->subject, $message, $header);
and change to this

Code: Select all

mail($to, $this->subject, $message, $header, "-fyouremailaddress@yourdomain.com");
it was the -f switch with a valid sending domain that was the issue, the domain with the -f switch has to be hard coded in for the mailserver security.
