Change add to cart behavior

Running 1.5.4 here, and we were wondering if there is a setting to change the add to cart behavior.

Instead of a message appearing telling customers the item has been added to their cart, we want it to take them to the cart itself.

We think the users are getting confused and not realizing the items are being added.

Google Analytics shows products being added to carts, but very few going to actually view the cart itself and less going to check out.

Is there a way this can be changed with a setting or do we need a mod for this?

you need a mod that will take them to the cart after adding a product. try this one

just a thought here, i hate websites that take me to the cart after i add products. if i am browsing and see a couple things i want to buy and add them then i goto the cart after each item, just something else to do thats not needed. checkout this mod also

I prefer to keep them on the product page if I could, but I think they just don't understand it was added.
Could be something else though.

Heres an Extension that will change the "Add to Cart" to "View Product" on Category Pages and Search Pages. This helps stop confusion when trying to view the product before adding to cart:
