I think your looking for http://sitename.com/install ...first arent you?
There's nothing there until you install it.

Hi I installed fresh opencart and changed file permissions according to the instructions

the new cart store front works perfectly fine I palced an order and did checkout process error free.

but when i use mysitename.com/admin I get the above error
while permissions for admin config is set
and admin folder exists.
I have done fresh installation so no setting no modification nothing else

I hope I have clearly explained my problem.
thanks

EDIT:
I renamed my .htaccess.txt to .htaccess
and i get this error when i type sitename.com/admin

Code: Select all

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Too many connections in /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/system/database/mysql.php on line 6
Error: Could not make a database connection using xxxxx_xxxxxx@localhost
Warning: mysql_close(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/xxxxxxxxxxx/public_html/system/database/mysql.php on line 66

after sometime multiple refresh
I got this error

Code: Select all

The page you requested cannot be found!
assuming that my admin part was not copied properly
i am uploading all 'folders' in admin part leaving 3 php files in admin config, php.ini and index.php

Somewhere along the update path a db change has been made.

So, dump your data (using phpmyadmin, etc ...)
Fresh install.
load dump data back into db.

IF anything goes wrong you still have the db dump ;)

930sc ... because it is fun!
