How on earth can I clear cache? [solved.. user error]

Hi all,

I have been Googling around for days. I updated my site with all new images, I FTPd them to the folder, I can see them, when I choose them, I see the picture. I press save.

The thumbnail doesn't update, the image on the front end doesn't update.

So after Googling around for a bit I found that I can clear images/cache vqmod/cache and system/cache.

When I FTP there and delete them they all come back again and my images don't update.

Can anyone help me to understand how I can update my images? I'm really sorry, I'm sure loads of people have already asked this, but I couldn't find the answer.

Ctrl + F5 in your browser.

I have tried that many times, that's not the issue. I even cleared the cache out of my browser and used other browsers.

Sorry I was being INCREDIBLY thick. I was uploading the images using the "image" tab, which uploads the secondary images. I needed to use the data tab.

Forgive me for my sins, thanks for trying to help.
