OpenCart email not encoded properly

Hi,

Some time ago I've created a shopping cart for one of my customers using at that time OpenCart version 2.0.3.1.

A day ago, my customer reported outgoing emails for the French language are not encoded properly. I.e. when a new user creates an account an email is sent with the welcome message.

Instead of properly displaying the content and HTML codes properly, it shows as follows:

Votre compte a été créé, vous pouvez désormais vous connecter en utilisant votre adresse courriel et mot de passe à l’adresse suivante :

I'm not sure if the issue arose suddenly of it existed from the day one when the OpenCart was installed. Whatever, the issue is there now...

Mail is sent by mail script, not SMPT.
Language files are encoded as UFT-8

I've already tried a couple of different suggestions however it did not help.

Search for this in Google: to find a lot of Answers on such, in french as well as english!

Thanks, both for trying to help, unfortunately, link provided IP_CAM did not help, although I'm not sure if this is because of the fact that the provided solution is for OpenCart version 1.5+, a solution isn't working or I've made something wrong. Funny, the post is 7 years old.

Btw. what are the chances this is hosting related because as said, the customer never reported it until recently?

Well, two of the posting found are no quite so old, but your problem might
be based on something, also published in non OC related postings as well.
And it has little or nothing to do with specific OC-Versions either , as I assume.
