Having trouble getting rid of coupon field

I am trying to remove a coupon code field from underneath my payment method section of my checkout page. I've already disabled coupons and vouchers in order totals. However, this coupon code field still remains and I am not sure how to get rid of it. Also, I am using Opencart 2.1.0.1 by the way.

Did you clear out your Modification + VqMod Cache (if exists), as
well as the system/cache Sections, after disabling the Function ?

No I haven't, but I have already solved the problem by going to modifications and seeing a coupon checkout mod I added a few years ago for some reason. I disabled the mod and the field is gone.

Nothing is helping me solve the same problem
