Hi,
I just purchased an extension from the Extensions page here. It is to do with redirecting old URLs to opencart when moving an old site onto opencart. I was expecting a simple extension basically using htaccess and a database look up of old to new urls.
Having unzipped the download I was surprised to find there were 117 files in a folder called MailerMaster. They seem to be to do with emailing via the Opencart store.
The extension should have no need to do any emailing, and emailing was not mentioned in the extension description.
I am slightly concerned this mailing code may somehow be used for spamming, but I am not expert enough to understand the code. There was also another folder called "Injection" which also seemed a bit suspicious.
I am a bit wary about installing it.
Do you think I should report the extension via the link on the extension page? ???
Thanks

Thanks for your advice.
The extension is Paladin Redirect Manager:
http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... n_id=21714

In the Comments I asked the Developer what the mailing files were for, but he has not replied.

I will report the extension so it can be checked by experts.

Unfortunately, there is no visible Proof of this claim on the (later) Extension Page Comment Section.

>> For questions and support, please send email to oc.paladinseo[at]gmail.com <<
Did you ever contact the Developer, in the first place, as noted on the Extension Page?

>> Extension purchased - may contain spamming code? <<
seems like to come rather near the Boulevard-Media kind of seeking public attention,
especially, if nobody else ever experienced any problems, as assumed, after reading
the Extension Comment Section.

my 2 cents... :(

IP_CAM, did you even read the comments on the extension page?
My comment is second from top and still there, and unanswered.

This is a support community. I asked some advice without naming the extension. I appreciated the replies. I was asked to name the extension.
