I´m totally new to Opencart and also to editing .tpl files.
I just wanted to ask for recommendations which software I should use.

It would be awesome if there is a wysiwyg editor.

Template files (.tpl) are plain text. You can only use a text editor like Notepad++. Personally, I use Bluefish as my main "tool" for editing.

I use Sublime Text 3 for editing templates :) - OpenCart turtorials, news, tips and stricks, extension
