New OC v.2-like Responsive Super-Theme for OC v.1.5.6

Posted: Sun Dec 13, 2015 12:17 am
About as close to match OC V-2 Viewing Experience, as one can get, and performance-wise, I got the same Performance Values as by use of a similarly installed OC-2 Shop version, by use of it's Default Theme.

This very lovely Theme not only comes as a very cheap OC2-like Theme Extension, it also keeps V.1.5.6.x-driven Shops up to latest User Demand, by offering full OC-2 Responsive Page View, and Handling, so enabling any kind of Smartphone, to use the Shop Site, as it would be possible with an OC V2 !

I have been testing it with one of my enhanced v. Shop version. It performes excellent, it's as fast as anyone of my enhanced Test-Shops, and by far the best-perfoming of all responsive free v.1.5.6.x Themes, I tested so far.

The only possible Draw-Back could be, that some existing OC v.1.5.6.x Modules do not longer display their Frames and shadows, due to the fact, that Modules are now CONTROLLED and STYLED in a responsive Way, in the new Theme, and therefore have to be 'rewitten', a little, to 'look' again, as they have displayed before.

Therefore, one should not expect, that everything will look just like ever before, on the Sideline, at least! But since it is relatively simple, to add a CSS-Style around something again, it won't be a problem, I just mention it, to avoid, anyone getting frustrated, to find out! It's still much easier and cheaper, than buy and install a Bag full of new Extensions, just to make a Shop look, and work again , as the old one did before...

I love it! Thank you for the great Job! :D

Change/Define Admin 5-item List Limit in OpenCart v.2

Posted: Sun Jan 03, 2016 1:01 pm
And here you find another little helper, when it comes to break some 'barriers',
set by the default 'hardcoded' way of doing certain 'Things', in some places in OC 2.
Admin List Limit for OC v.,,,,

Author Description:
OC_MOD, Replace the standard limitation of 5 entries at all admin autocomplete fields
to that defined value as set in the shop config.
OC_MOD, Ersetzt den Standardwert von 5 Einträgen in den automatischen Ergänzungsfeldern
im Adminbereich auf das Limit wie in der Shopkonfiguration definiert.

WIll be continued! ( if they let me do it ::) )
Update Aug.27.2016: For Opencart v.,,,,,
Change the default limit of 5 on your number of items in the autocomplete.
-Feeds - Google Base;
Optimized code.
Compatibility with other modules.
In a long list, the scroll bar appears.

Category Attribute Template for OpenCart v.2.x

Posted: Sun Jan 03, 2016 1:17 pm
I really like this Idea !
Category Attribute Template for OC v.1.5.x + OC v.,,,,,

Slightly modified Author Description:

With the help of this extension, the Admin Product Manager/User can load the attributes, associated with a category, in the product entry form, and then can use/enter those values, instead of selecting each attribute, one by one, possibly uncounted amounts of times ...
Using this extension, you can associate a list of Attributes to a Category, i.E., for laptops, you would always enter "harddisk", "ram","screensize" e.t.c., as Default Value, sort of. With this Extension, you can save these attributes in a Category, and whenever a User/dataentry Worker add's a product of/to such a Category, instead of adding these attribute names, one by one, she/he can select the "Attribute Template", associated with the category, i.e laptops (by example), and just enter the spec's into the product form.

That's it!
In no way related to anyone of the authors.
I just feel, it's good to know ! :D
Untested too!

I found something usefull for many OC v.1.5.6 Users, select, what you need,
in your Customer Registration and Checkout Forms! It works well and without Problems
in my latest OC v. !

Custom Register Checkout show/hide + set required/unrequired Fields in Registration and Checkout:
Authors Comment:
With this very nice OC v. - Module, you can easily make each field show / hide
or required / unrequired, on both, the Register and Checkout page.

Re: Customer visual monitor of Order Status

One of the most visually impressive free Extensions of OpenCart, I ever found so far!
Should be in by default, in every OC ! :D
I just had to shrink the Top/Bottom Margin Values a little, in the VqMod, to make is a little 'less' in overall height.

Re: New OC v.2.2 Customer-Group Logo / Title in User Account

Posted: Thu Jun 23, 2016 8:15 am
I created a VqMod, adding a User-Group TITLE to the Customer Account Welcome Section.
I finalized a User-Group LOGO VqMod for my OC v.2.2 as well.
Both VqMod's are inside of the free ZIP File, downloadable from the OC Extension Section.
1. Account Welcome plus Customer Group Logo for OpenCart v.2.2
To make this VqMod work, in your PHPMyAdmin, on your Opencart database,
you have to run a SQL query, listed in the read-me.txt file, and possibly change
oc_ to match your DB-Table PREFIX , if different.
2. Account Welcome plus Customer Group ID - Title for OpenCart v.2.2
No DB Query is required, to make this VqMod work!
Link removed, I'll wait for OC v., before I proceed, trying to keep up... :P
PM me, if you need the v.2.2 Mod, but without any 'upgrade' questions...!
Good Luck ;)

OC v.2.x CacheCleaner and File CHMOD Repair Tool

Posted: Thu Jun 30, 2016 11:24 am
One of the easiest and leanest FREE ways, to get rid of all Cached OC-2 Content, like cached Images,
cached VqMod Content and cached OcMod Content. An perfect way, to reset a system in full, after adding or
removing some VqMod- or OcMod- Extensions! And without doing any Harm to the Setup as well !

Just place inside of the OC Directory, and run it, it does not need OC to work! BUT better, name it differently,
so, not everybody will be able to play around with ! :D

After USE, you may have to reset the ADMIN MODIFICATION System as well, to make Your OcMod's work again.
But I am not sure about this, I can just guess ...

I love it ! :D

OpenCart Repair and Cache Clear
A simple php file that will set files permissions to 0644 and folders permissions to 0755.
And it will delete the cache of the OpenCart c.2.x and the VQmod.

I added/modified TWO Sections, as shown below, to meet my requirements:

    echo "Clearing image/cache/catalog/demo<br/>";

if (file_exists("system/storage/modification")) {

The perfect OpenCart exTplorer Admin File Editor

OpenCart exTplorer Admin File Editor - extplorer_logo.jpg (16.49 KiB) Viewed 7818 times

Just to remind you, that the famous latest Version exTplorer PHP File Editor works again with OpenCart
up to the latest PHP Versions!
It has been Part of MaxD's genious enhanced OpenShop 1.7 Admin Package, and I missed it badly, since it did not
longer function after some updated Server PHP-Versions. To me, it's comparable to my beloved Peter NORTON Legacy
WIN-COMMANDER, and there is no easier way to edit anything online within OC ! :D
Ernie ;)
eXtplorer PHP File Manager, easy to be integrated into OpenShop/OpenCart !
Accessible only for users with user/user_permission modify permissions
(like Top Administrators) at System -> File Manager.

eXtplorer is a web-based File Manager. You can use it to:
- browse directories & files on the server and
- edit, copy, move, delete files,
- search, upload and download files,
- create and extract archives,
- create new files and directories,
- change file permissions (chmod) and much more...
You can even use eXtplorer to login to the FTP server (like net2ftp) and work as if you were using an FTP client.
in the config/mimes.php file, the .TPL File Extension has to be declared, to make xxx.tpl Files editable:

Code: Select all

// editable files:
...... ".sql", ".tpl", ".csv" ......
// programming
"tpl"	=> array(extGetParam( $GLOBALS["mimes"], 'tpl', 'TPL' ),   "extension/tpl.png",   ".tpl"),

Hi Ernie,

Any idea how to get this one working for OC

Re: New OC v.2-like Responsive Super-Theme for OC v.1.5.6

Well, I have not used the Extplorer Extension for some time, after
I run into some Problems with it on later PHP Versions. I then changed to
a much simpler russian Admin Editor Version, but that Mod would not be
working in later OC Versions anymore. Sorry about this...

This is to inform you, that I concluded my OpenCart LIGHT v. Project as

It will be available on one of my Sites within a couple of days, for those
Users, eager to keep the old familiar 1.5.x Admin Functionality and Look, but
combined with modern Front Side Bootstrap Theme Technology and PHP 7.x
Compatibility. It's my way of saying Thank You to all, adding their Knowledge
to this fine Project, during all those Years. :)
