define "upgrade"?

Are you looking for something new? Or planning your attack?

If you get 0.7.9RC5 then that is pretty much how the new version will be.

In 0.8 a lot of stuff will change

I have used the core library of 0.7.8 to write one site.

If there are much difference between 0.7.8 and the newest version. It must waste a lot of time to modify.

Between 0.7.8 and 0.7.9 there are over 100 bug fixes. But the general functionality is very much the same.

0.8 will address a lot of the shortcomings of the 0.7.x version. A lot of sections will be new, while keeping to the same structure. A lot of new features are planned, as well as open ideas from the community. The goal is to make 0.7.9 as stable as possible, so that we can start with a great base for 0.8 and not take steps backward trying to fix bugs when we want to focus on new features.

It is safe to say that not many 0.7.x contribs will work with 0.8, and 0.8 will hopefully have a few new methods of supporting contribs so its a good segue way to change the way we create contribs.  But more details will follow after 0.7.9 is fully finalized. Hopefully by the end of this week.

Big plans are in store for post-0.7.9 :)
