Have not with my stores, but I did this years ago with my entertainment site (scifispace.com) and it was one of the things that propelled it to an about.com mega site. I used to regularly give away books and dvds. Just getting that site going again and haven't run a competition lately on anything, but do plan to soon. Haven't heard of raptorcopter - I just always did it via a php script someone wrote for my site.

The success of running a giveaway on your store would really depend on a lot of factors such as what it is you are giving away, how you promote it, etc. But it could be a way to drive traffic if you promote it right.

Running Opencart v3.0.3.9 with multi-stores and the default template from https://www.labeshops.com which has links to all my stores.

i have used rafflecopter for a long time and i think that Rafflecopter is the world's easiest way to run a giveaway online. Rafflecopter allows you to customize and embed an entry form on your site that incentivizes your audience to perform tasks in exchange for entries into a sweepstakes. Customize your widget and place it anywhere HTML is accepted, whether it’s on your Wordpress blog, your Facebook page, or both! Provide the promotion details, plug in the prize, and you’re off and collecting entries. The more entries completed by entrants, the better chance they have of winning, and the more interaction your promotion receives, helping you grow your community.
