I had a very pleasant and positive experience with this tool, so I wanted to share it with all of you :)

I needed to clone a web site for a client, but he didn't have the data, so I used Visual Web Ripper to get it. It took just couple of hours to collect the data for ~5.000 products, including categories, subcategories, name, price, picture, additional pictures, description, etc. I exported the collected data in Excel, edited/adjusted it, exported it in .csv, and imported it in OpenCart v1.5.1.3.1 with CSV Import PRO. I was amazed how fast, in just couple of hours, I managed to get a fully functional web site, with ~5.000 products fully filled with info :)

CSV Import PRO: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... ion_id=887 (Developer: justinv)

If you know and/or have experience with some other similar software like this one, please share it ;)

From the website:

"Visual Web Ripper can export extracted web data to almost anywhere. You can export data to CSV, Excel, XML, SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle and OleDB. You can also use an export script to completely customize data export if you have basic programming skills.

Our web scraper software can export data to Excel 2003+ and take advantage of features in Excel 2007+ such as outlining and embedded images."

With first impression I can say that this one is quite
handy tool.

Would love to check their video demo and other details,
like what kind of data they can extract and all.

Thanks for letting us know.

I used Mozenda for a website I built that required the same data to be extracted from multiple websites on a regular basis. They have some big names in their "portfolio", so I'm sure someone will find that handy.

For anyone interested, the website is AutoGoGo.com
