Hi there,

can you help to give some guidance how to upgrade from OC 2.1.0.1 to the 2.3.0.2 version?

I made a back-up from the FTP server files (FileZilla) as well as from the database.
But what next?

Hope someone listens in!

Hope someone listens in!
Why ? has been answerred uncounted times already. ::)
And it should be understud and clear, that DATABASE Content
only
can be further used, and most everything else on existing
Version Code is of no Value anymore, since newer Versions also
use newer Code in some places and routines. ;) And since most
existing OC Shops are modified/enhanced in one or the other way,
no OC-Upgrade could handle such in the first place.

But if you are not familiar with Database 'internals', you will require
commercial Support. And if you already use some Extensions, they
either need to partially be upgraded also, or better replaced by new
Mods, matching your new Version.

Hope someone listens in, 'cause there is no free alternative in sight! :D

Good Luck!
Ernie

As Ernie said there is no "one command" sudo apt-get upgrade:)) and all done. the guides can be provided where your main concern is to take old database values and to add to new database structure (some tables may be missing in newer version, some changed and so on) so so be 100 % acurate my suggestion would be side by side to have 2 database (old one yours and new one) and manually checking databases and adding the missing columns and tables and values . later (if you in luck) you can try uploading fresh copy of the script files and connect to that newly created database and install your theme if you lucky enough it will be partially done (so what will remain is to add your custom made code to your new files or install the modules) but if you never done this i also would recommend to hire someone to do the task, because mostly believable you will spend a weekend trying to upgrade and in the monday end up where you started:) and lastly why to upgrade at all?? if it is all working in x version there is no need to install Y . (unless this new versiuon has a new feature you can't live without it:))
