The order will appear in the newly created customer account under "History" on the account page.
If customer already has an account, but is not logged in, the customer will NOT be redirected to the login page, but will be allowed to continue through the "guest" checkout. However, a new password will be created for that account (can be reset through the customer's account page).
Updated to include the checkout link on the sitemap page.

If you're not living on the edge ... you're taking up too much space!
Just a short question, if a customer already has an account, the new order will be added to that account or will it be a guest-checkout order?

If the customer already has an account, the order will be added to that account, providing they use the same email address. However, their password will be changed (new password being the customer's first name). If the customer uses a different email address, a new account will be created.

Yep. That's basically how it works. It uses the information gathered during the guest checkout procedure to create the account. It's pretty much the same information that you would provide to create an account anyway, the only differences being, you don't specify a password (it's created automatically) and there's no newsletter option (disabled by default).i2Paq wrote:So basically you say that that the guest-checkout is account-create.
Where'd they get that idea from?Looks like what PS has done with their latest release.

I wrote an Express checkout for Prestashop 1.2 that pretty much did that. Not sure if they used the model I implemented but I am pretty sure the idea came from there from what I hear. Basically I masked a guest checkout but it created an account on the back-end that the user could later activate as a full account if they wished. Considering it was downloaded over 5000 times, I am sure it was well known to the developers as well...

Yeah, I was surprised how many people liked it. All that matters is if it helped sales. If a mod to the checkout helps with conversions, I am all for it no matter what it is!!i2Paq wrote: Yes, I remember your modification!

I was being facetious with that comment.fido-x wrote:Where'd they get that idea from?

Could you add a modification to it so when a "real" customer registers they get send a e-mail with their user-name and password?
You know, what you created for me?
Thanks!

How are existing customers informed that their password has been changed?fido-x wrote:If customer already has an account, but is not logged in, the customer will NOT be redirected to the login page, but will be allowed to continue through the "guest" checkout.
