script integration?

Hello, my question: is there a method of adding products to my opencart store using a script running on my local machine? Thanks for any help!

For example, a Perl script/HTML form that uses POST to send data (product details) to another script located on my opencart host, which then adds the product. Are there any opencart modules that can add this sort of functionality? Or do I need to code it myself?

I believe you need to code it yourself. Opencart has a good MVC that you can just follow.
